Hello!

I'm Monica A. Olivera, Chair of the Northeast Ohio Association for Hispanic Health (NOAHH) and a dedicated advocate for the Hispanic/Latino community with a background in psychology. I also coordinate Hispanic outreach at NAMI of Greater Cleveland and promote cultural diversity through Teatro Público de Cleveland. Read more about my journey below.

My Story

Monica A. Olivera, hailing from Lima, Perú, has been an integral part of the Northeast Ohio Association for Hispanic Health (NOAHH) as the Chair. With a License in Psychology from Universidad Particular Ricardo Palma, Lima, Perú, Monica’s professional journey has been deeply intertwined with her passion for serving the Hispanic/Latino population.

Monica’s dedication to promoting the well-being of the Hispanic/Latino community is evident through her role as the Hispanic Outreach and Education Coordinator at the National Alliance for Mental Illness (NAMI) of Greater Cleveland. Her expertise in psychology and her commitment to mental health advocacy have been invaluable in ensuring that the unique needs of the community are met.

In addition to her contributions to NOAHH, Monica is an esteemed member of the Teatro Público de Cleveland Leadership Committee with Cleveland Public Theatre, where she has been actively involved in acting since 2014. Through her participation in the committee, she has played a crucial role in promoting cultural diversity and fostering a sense of community through the performing arts.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Monica finds joy in her personal life. She is happily married to Arturo and is a proud mother of two children, César and Alyssa. Residing in Cleveland, she cherishes her time spent with her family and their beloved dogs, Chasqui and Daisy. During her free moments, Monica indulges in her hobbies, which include working on miniature houses or puzzles, listening to music and dancing, and preparing delicious Peruvian cuisine.

As the Chair of NOAHH, Monica assumes a pivotal leadership role in guiding the organization’s vision and initiatives. Her deep understanding of the challenges faced by the Hispanic/Latino population, coupled with her expertise in psychology and community engagement, ensures that NOAHH’s efforts are focused on promoting equitable healthcare and empowering the community. Monica’s unwavering commitment to the cause and her passion for serving others make her an exceptional leader within NOAHH and a driving force in advancing the health and well-being of the Hispanic/Latino community in Northeast Ohio.
